Many stores offer bike buy-back services. The best will be given a second life locally, while others will be shipped abroad or resold for their metal.

To ensure that our bikes are models that will retain their value, and to assure our customers that their purchase is also an investment, we only buy back bikes if the original price (when bought new) is over 1,500 euros.
Finally, we only accept bikes in very good condition. In addition to the visual aspect, which we will assess thanks to your photos, we attach a great deal of importance to the way you maintain your bike: regular check-ups, annual servicing by a professional mechanic, etc.

A bike isn't just a consumer item. It can be a real investment when it's a nice model. And just like a classic car or a fine musical instrument, it's important to take care of it so it doesn't depreciate too much.
As promised, here are a few simple tips to preserve the value of your bike.
- Clean your bike thoroughly after every ride, even if it's not raining! This is even more important when you've been riding in the rain, as the slightly acidic water will attack the paintwork and finishes. To find out how to do it, go to our mechanic's advice in this video.
- Regularly check the general appearance and condition of tires, transmission and braking system. Lubricate your chain often. If you use tubeless tires, top them up with preventive fluid every 6 months or so.
- Replace worn parts. The points of contact (saddle, handlebars, tires) are the most stressed, but the brakes, transmission and transmission are also subject to wear. Cassette and chain should also be changed from time to time.
- Use a torque wrench. The components are sometimes fragile, and tightening them "all the way" can damage them. You can get one for under 30 euros, and it's well worth it!
- This is probably the most important piece of advice: take your bike to a mechanic at least once a year. Better equipped and more experienced than you in bike mechanics, he'll be able to see the details you've missed. He'll also be able to anticipate any mechanical problems you may have been unaware of.
And don't think it's an unnecessary expense: his intervention will have a considerable impact on the condition of your bike: to each his own! 😉
